I must admit that at some point, I admired boy bands like almost every girl of my age. Just like everyone else, I picked my favorite boy band member and giggled endlessly in the sight of him. Though as I grow up, the boy band trend began to dissolve and gave way to more mature solid rock music. Now, unlike most of my girl friends who got hooked to High School Musical, The Click Five and Britney Spears, I followed The Beatles, My Chemical Romance, The Used and other rock groups. Needless to say, I became an outcast.

One day my 13-year-old sister (who loves the same bands that I love) approached me to ask for a favor. "Is it possible for you to accompany me to The Click Five's tour in Alabang Town Center?" she said. I was stumped actually. "What the hell do you want from that band?!” I exclaimed. She said she just wanted to meet a friend of hers and that the show will just be their way of meeting each other. Reluctantly, I agreed - since dad won't let her go on her own. I braced myself from cheese overload though.

The day of the show, I thought to myself that maybe the show won't attract that much of a crowd. Why would they even want to go anyway? But to my surprise, there was a huge (I mean huge!) crowd piled inside the mall, apparently waiting for the band to play. I must admit that I was stumped. During the whole show I was going around texting my friends saying how I definitely abhor my current situation and how freakishly boyband-ish the band looks-like though they sport electric guitars and drum sets. I waited impatiently for the show to end and after almost an eternity of waiting, the band sung their final song - which was "Jenny".

Days after that, my sister kept singing "Jenny" and I honestly wanted to throw things at her because that song reminds me of that two-hour torture I had to endure just so she can meet her friend. So, next time that you want to torture me, you know which band to call!
