When I was 17, I had a major mental breakdown.  I ended up finding out I was bipolar and was checked into a psychiatric hospital my senior year of high school.  While in the hospital, I was given pills of all different colors and shapes and told they would make me feel better.  I felt horrible and scared.  I had know idea what was going on but I quickly realized that the other people I was residing with were just as scared.

The hospital was separated into two sectors - one for teens/kids and the other for people who were in detox.  It scared the shit out of me, but now whenever I hear the song Lithium by Evanescence I remember the experience with less fear and more of a "yea I was there" attitude.  It helps me cope.  This song was a metaphor for the band, but for me it couldn't hit home any more.
