My mum passed away 8December2007. She had cancer and I shared a relationship with her much like the relationship that Bono had with his father.

This song brings me to tears every time I hear it. Our parents fight with us and themselves and hardly take the opportunity to sit back and think, "this person came from me, is of me." "Do you hear me when I sing? You're the reason that the opera is in me."

In concert Bono often sings, "no regrets, no tears goodbye..." at the end of the song. I don't have regrets, but I sure wish that she would have enjoyed her life and what she had created a little bit more...
