Highwayman is a song that I could have began to hear on the radio, or I had read the name but I brushed it aside and never really shown any interest to it. My friend introduced the song to me by making me read the poem. The song was an originally was a poem made by Alfred Noyes then Loreena Mckennitt sang and created a new version of it. I've heard of Loreena Mckennit by the song she did called Mummers Dance, so when I went home from my friend houses I decided to reread the poem only to discover that Loreena Mckennit had recreated the poem into a song.

The song is relaxing, it has a calming selection of instruments and has not added suspires. Loreena Mckennitt voice is clear so that you can hear the poem perfectly but with the adding of music you feel more engaged to listen to the poem. What makes the song so interesting to me is ho w the poem uses old English words and since the song was a poem they keep the rhyming.

From the first time that I heard the song till each time I hear the song I created a habit to daydream the song out just as if the song was a movie being shown right there.
