My mom, my hero.LOCATION: home , MilwaukeeYEAR: 2005TAGS: Motley Crue, mom, angelsPUBLISHED: March 1, 2008When you’re a kid, you never think that your parent(s) will ever get sick. You think they are invincible or something. At least that was how I felt, about mom. Even though, while I was growing up, she was diabetic, my mom’s character was strong. Everybody loved her at the restaurant she worked at. She was bubbly, full of life, strong-willed, stubborn, and always could make you laugh. It wasn’t until I was around 25 years old. She was 48 years old, almost 49 when she had her first heart attack. We were very scared at that time that she would’ve needed to have bypass surgery, but she pulled through. She would later go on to have, 6 more heart episodes, along with a stroke.  Doctors still today, believe that after her stroke that she pulled through miraculously. She was supposed to have suffered more serious damage, but this wasn’t so. She was a trooper, and wasn’t going to give up without a fight. Being the believer I am in God, I think her guardian angels had something to do with her pulling through, as well as she did. Like they say, the Lord works in mysterious ways, and he does watch over us. She was always there for me, through thick, and thin, and so whenever I think of my mom, I think about the song, “Without you, by Motley Crue†cause I almost lost my mom, and more than once at that. She’s my best friend, and I love her more than she will ever know. That is why I don’t take my mom for granted anymore, cause I have to enjoy the time that I do have with her, cause we never know what tomorrow will bring.
