The first time I ever heard this song, and this band, was almost exactly one year ago at my friends house. This friend happened to be my escape. At the time, neither one of my parents were talking to me. I felt like a prisoner or a ghost in my house, and the only place I could go was her place, because she was also the person who I worked for during the summer. I don't think my parents ever realized what great friends we are, not just someone I work for. Her house became a haven of some sort for me, a place where I could go to get away from my house, where someone talked to me and I felt loved.

She let me use her computer to keep in touch with my friends, but she always insisted on having this certain internet radio on. I Will Follow You Into The Dark came on and I fell in love with it.

When I hear this song, I think of the fact that I haven't called her in over a month. I think of how many things have changed since last year. But most of all, I think of the one person, the only person, who could have and was there for me when I was at my lowest.
