Day off from school because I just had to open up my big mouth and vomit all over the nurses's office in what must have been the fifth grade. All I wanted to do while my mom was at work (Single Working Mother of Two, Go!) was watch TV, and never eat my friend's old balogna sandwiches again...

What's this? I ask the TV while flipping through the dozens of channels we had readily available to us at the time. It was some sort of music video. Who is Eiffel 65 and why are they blue? I didn't know. I didn't care. I still don't know, and I still don't care.

I feel the music in my soul (oh yes, my very soul.) and I love it. No, I more than love it, I LIKE it. The difference between the two is that I tend to like songs long after everyone else has gotten tired of them.

Blue being my favorite color, I felt a special connection to the semi-synthesized voice "singing" to me about this "blue" he seemed to be so fond of. Da Ba Dee. Okay. I obeyed the music and nodded my head to the beat. I was wrapped from head to toe in a suffocatingly thick blanket, so I apologized to the song for my limited movement.

I get the feeling that it understands.

It gets the feeling that I understand.

Thanks. I'm planning on doing one for each year of the 00's. Then maybe I could dig deep down into my subconscious to try to remember the 90's (I was born in '88). Then possibly I could pick some songs from the 80's that sort of personify me. Oh yeah, this could go on for a while... (8/7/2008)
