PaintingLOCATION: Home , FloridaYEAR: 2007TAGS: painting, friendshipPUBLISHED: February 15, 2008I decided to paint my livingroom two days before Thanksgiving. Since I tend to underestimate every project, I neglected to account for the cathedral ceilings in the room. What I thought would be a 2 hour project was still going on in the wee hours of the morning. My best friend agreed to help me paint, and we finally started rolling around 9 that night. For the next 6 hours, we moved furniture, climbed up and down ladders, and listened to VH1's marathon of the greatest songs of the 80s. U2, of course, was featured throughout the countdown. It turns out that "Sweetest Thing" is one of her favorite songs because of the line about the brown eyed girl. As we talked about this song, we moved on to other U2 songs that we liked. For once, our taste in music was surprisingly similar. Normally, I prefer songs with meaningful lyrics, and she likes a dance beat. That night of endless painting and U2 sealed our friendship. For Christmas that year she gave me a copy of the Singles CD. I don't go anywhere without it.
