My own memory of this music includes this one cause I had recently heard this oldie but not so goodie. It is a song that goes beyond peace-loving, war-rebelling music of the 60s in my opinion. According to a demography of the performer, this song gave Teresa Brewer slightly better admiration rather than the terrible-voiced performances she usually delivered. It became her trademark song while staying in the #1 position in 1950 found and categorized by popular listener-demand hits list. There are a number of different recordings of this song. In London, 1950 she originally recorded Music ! Music ! Music ! but listeners might find it difficult to obtain. She did re-record the song in 1955 for Coral Records which added the (Put Another Nickel In). It was a simple little catchy phrase that turned the tune around for some people. It can also reflect on how some figured life can get pretty expensive. As like, now 'put another hundred in" ... get my drift?

My dad told me the memory he associates with this song. He goes outside, jumps in the car, turns the key, and pushes the starter button (yes folks, you heard me, a starter button. Its a 1936 Ford what did you expect...? , and nothing happens. "Not even a sound because my battery was dead but I did not know why. Jumped out of the car, opened the hood and took a 9/16 wrench and beat on the battery terminals. That had no effect so I took the battery out of the car, put it in my dads car and went to the store to buy a newone." I put the new battery in and hooked up the last battery cable the radio began blaring this song which apparently leaving the radio on is why the old battery died, finally. I hear 'Put another nickel in, in the nickelodian. This was a machine that had to play a song by putting another nickel in, therefore the creative title for this machinery--a nickelodian...

He said "that song has never left my mind since everytime you have to fix something, you just have to "put another nickel in" just to keep it running."

*By the way my dad is "Autumn_Years" here at JamsBio.
