Oh Oh She's the Refugee

LOCATION: U of Pitt-Johnstown , Pennsylvania

YEAR: 1983

TAGS: The Refugee, U2

PUBLISHED: October 6, 2008

Although I had a copy of I Will Follow on some mixed tape I stole, it was this album, WAR, and this song, THE REFUGEE that brought me into U2 Nation. While my college roommate listened to Michael Jackson's Thriller and wore cowboy boots...I was blasting Sunday Bloody Sunday from my dorm speakers. The needle wore this album down every single day....sometimes two or three times a day.

Oh, oh
Shes the refugee.
I see your face,
I see you staring back at me.

We would sing louder every verse.

Her papa go to war.
He gonna fight,
But he dont know what for.

We would get up on the tables. And at the top of our lungs..

Shes a pretty face,
But at the wrong time and at the wrong place.
Shes a pretty face.
Her mama say one days shes gonna live in america.
Yeah, america.

End of story.
