This is How You Remind Me of Taking Music Too SeriouslyLOCATION: Girlfriend's apartment, New York CityYEAR: 2003TAGS: Nickelback, WomenPUBLISHED: December 7, 2007Maybe a week or so into dating my future wife, I was hanging in her apartment while she was getting ready for us to go out... I was bored and nosey and started looking through the top of her mail. This was probably around the time where CD clubs were dying off and I noticed that she happened to a member of the BMG Music Club. I tried looking behind the cardboard to see what this lovely girl's taste was like. I had a look of horror and wanted to do that kind of scream in Raising Arizona after John Goodman and his partner claw their way through the tunnel of crap. Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.... The disc she received was Nickelback's Silver Side Up. I honestly thought, "this girl is pretty great, but gee, this isn't working out, I'm not sure," etc, etc. She then came out to see me with a weird look on her face and she said that she's tired of the club sending her CDs automatically.
I almost broke up with a girl because of a piece of plastic with a shiny disc inside. That's pretty sad. BUT it was Nickelback.

i just posted a very anti-nickelback memory and saw
this in the "related" section.
indeed it's wrong to judge a person based on their musical taste.
riddle me this though: is it wrong to judge music? (6/30/2008)
yankeebayonet said: not at all, it isn't. some of it simply isn't good, and some of it doesn't fit your tastes. either way, i don't blame you for not liking nickelback - but i came to listen to it without the mainstream radio overplaying each and every song, so i have an appreciation for it that is a little bit more open. i can't stand them now, though - they're just horribly overproduced, and i love a natural sound.
