Having seen at least a thousand concerts around the world over the last decade, people often ask me what my favorite show has been.

And for whatever reason, the first one that pops into my mind is a Terence Trent D'Arby show I saw in 1996 in NYC. Now, Terence is typically remembered as being a pompous, odd bird, who no longer even has the same name. But that night, he blew me away... amazing band, great stage presence and charisma all flowing. He was touring behind his album Vibrator. Yeah, yeah. But in reading the liner notes of the album, he explained that we are all vibrators with our energy making the world go around... or something.

I think I recall that show so well simply because I had no expecations... and he blew me away. Reminded me so much of James Brown onstage... just total entertainment. I still wear my Vibrator concert shirt to this day. After all... we're all vibrators.
