David | MEMORY FROM 1986

French Halen

LOCATION: Beach, Nice

YEAR: 1986

TAGS: Travel, Van Halen

PUBLISHED: December 7, 2007

I remember being in maybe 7th or 8th grade, and during one of those summers, my father decided to take the family to the South of France. It was pretty amazing, the fast cars, fast women, scenery, and hamburgers with eggs on them. But I distinctly remember one thing American which was my constant companion for those two weeks... a cassette of Van Halen's OU812 pumping on my Walkman. I probably listened to it twice a day, walking on the beach, past the Ferraris, making me miss the States.
