Major Disappointmen tLOCATION: Concert Venue , Laredo, TXYEAR: 2003TAGS: concert, boring, disappointmentPUBLISHED: February 17, 2008Now one would think that a Shakira concert would be a happy, upbeat memory, but for me it is a rather boring one. This was the first concert I ever attended, and it is most likely the reason I have not attended one since. I was so excited when one of my friends asked me to attend this concert with him. I was, still am actually, a huge Shakira fan. I thought that it would just be so much loud, noisy, uncontrollable fun. As usual, I was wrong, and severely disappointed. To start with, we had to drive about two hours to get to the concert venue. It was a silent, awkward drive. I soon realized that we had almost nothing in common and certainly nothing to talk about. Then we stopped for dinner. Again, the meal was boring with very limited conversation. I was excited to finally be getting to the concert. I thought that even if we had no conversation the concert would be exciting enough. However, it was not. The concert was just as boring as the entire trip had been. When Shakira sang this song, I tried to get into the mood, but everywhere around me people just sat there. There was no energy at all. Now I had the boring trip home to look forward to. When I hear this song, it only bears disappointment. Even though I am still a huge fan of Shakira, I simply feel only disappointment when I hear this song.
