Gathering No MossLOCATION: My Blackberry, the tube home , LondonYEAR: 2008TAGS: Rockers, Pirates, AgePUBLISHED: March 17, 2008My brother loves The Stones. I'm less bothered, but I know I really must see them live before they die. Or before I die. The jury is out on which one will come first. It annoys me that every time the band tours the press harp on about how old the band are, that they should retire etc etc. Why? They're musicians. This is what they do, and let's be honest, they do it bloody well. So long as there's an appetite for the paying public to see them (and to pay stupendous prices to do so) then why the hell shouldn't they tour? I can't help but feel that the hacks are simply pissed off at how much money The Stones make everytime they go on the road - it's that, rather than ageism, avarice seems to me to be at the route of their criticism. Afterall, do the financial papers tell Murdoch to retire, and suggest that it's disgraceful that someone of his age is still running a big multi-national? No. Double standard? I think so. Anyway, if the hacks can do it, so can I, here'sĀ 10 Stones remixes for theĀ Viagra generation... 1: Start Me Up (with a nice cuppa tea) Got any others?
