The Other Lip Sync AssignmentLOCATION: School , Bristol, WI, USAYEAR: 2001TAGS: angel, crush, school, lip sync, class, projectPUBLISHED: February 17, 2008In seventh grade, the four classes of students in our grade had to do two separate lip syncing performances. I wrote about the first one in a previous memory, hence the "other" in the title of this one. The difference between the two projects was that for the second one, we had twice the time to practice for it, and we had to do the performance up on a stage in front of the whole grade level. This time I grouped up with only my friend Amanda because the other girl in my class had gone back to homeschooling at that time. There are several songs that make me think of this fun project from my childhood. There's "Candy" by Mandy Moore, which is the one that I did with my friend. Then there's "Higher" by Creed that another guy in my class did, but he did really well at it, so it stays in my memory. And then there's "Angel" by Shaggy that my at-that-time crush did. Whenever I hear this song, which, again, was my favorite at the time, I think of myself, writing my crush's name all over my notebooks and wall and book covers and whatever I could. What a little girly-girl I was.
