Maybe I was hoping that someone would notice all the "cool" bands I listened to and become a friend for life. Maybe I was just bored. On the paper bag cover of my math book that year, I had written the song "Last Kiss" by Pearl Jam. I do still love the song, and even both versions of it, but I can't help but think back to that year and to a specific day in math class, when a boy in my class saw it written on my book and started picking on me because... well, I don't know why. But he kept saying "Ooooo, Last Kiss!" And making kissy sounds and being really annoying. What a terrible kid! I laugh to myself though, because it IS funny. Awkwardly trying to defend myself and come off looking cool because Pearl Jam was "awesome." But what a lovely song this is. Â
