Talk about guilty pleasure! I actually still love this band... this CD in particular. There's something about the weird, digital voice, and how utterly monotonous the whole album sounds. It's obnoxious and strong, which seems odd to say about music outside of Death Metal, but I think it fits.

 On with the memory, however!

Let's see... this happened about six years ago, but it seems like a lifetime, or maybe that's just my defense against being accused of being dorky. I was! There's no denying it! And maybe I still am. But once again, on with the memory!

In seventh grade, oddly enough, I had the same group of friends as I do now. Me and four other girls, one of whome was homeschooled for most ofher school years, but she came to school for most of sixth and seventh grade, and then went to a public high school for one year. I always felt sorry for her because her mother was a little over-protective and only wanted her daughter to have friends inside her family and everything, but mothers can only winfor a little while.

My class was given an assignment to do a lip-sync performance in groups in front of the class. For any person who doesn't know what lip-syncing is, it's basically dancing and mouthing the words to a song, but not actually singing. I was in a group with the homeschooled girl and another of my best friends, and we picked to do the song "Blue (da ba dee)" by Eiffel 65 because they were my favorite band at the time, and I suppose I was the leader of the group so I got to choose.

We went to the protected girl's house to practice the dance for a while and learn the words, and while we DID learn the words, we had almost nothing for a dance by the time the session came to a close, and I was angry about that because I was taking the thing seriously. We had to wing the performance but it really didn't turn out disasterously. I think we got a "b" grade on it, but wow, did we have fun doing it!

I really wish I had a tape or picture of us dressed in our blue sweat suits, because that's something I could really laugh at now, even though I was kind of humiliated to be wearing it at the time!
