Since I'm relatively young, and this song came out in 1994, it's been around as far back as I can remember. And every time I hear this song, I'm not entirely sure why, I fall into a little trance. A happy zone. It's hands down the second most beautiful song I know of, and I absolutely love that it's Sting singing it because I don't know that there's anyone who could do it better.

As for memories associated with the song, there's quite a few since I own his greatest hits album and I hear it constantly on the radio. But my favorite memory associated with it is the one that hasn't been made yet!

I love this song so much that I plan on building my whole wedding around the theme "Fields of Gold." The church and reception will be decorated with lots of white and gold, my dress will be white with gold details, and I'll walk down the aisle to an instrumental version of the song, and use it for the first dance... I just have to hope that the poor sap that winds up with me doesn't hate the song.

That thought makes me laugh every time.
