This memory is about a simple coincidence. In my freshman year of high school, I had a huge crush on a guy. And when you have a huge crush on a guy, you want to know as much as you can about them, right? Well, one day I was sitting next to him in my Civics class and it was the end of the period. My crush guy was sitting with a friend of his and he was drawing a picture of a man's face. I leaned over and asked who he was drawing, and for some reason, I didn't hear the name of the band he said, but he said, "It's the singer of a band called ____." Okay, so I look at the guy's shirt and it's an AFI teeshirt, and the picture sort of looked like Davey Havoc, who sings for that band. I figured that's what he said. I already knew all about that band, so I just let it go. A few months later, after school was done and everything, I started getting really into the band HIM, who I came across on my brother's CKY DVD's. It took about a year for them to become my second favorite band (where they remain), and only then, at a completely random time, did I mention to someone that this song was done by "A band called HIM." OH. Then it clicked! THAT's what he said. Not AFI. HIM. Now when I hear the song, I picture the face my crush guy was drawing and feel incredibly foolish. But I don't mind, because it's an excellent song.
