How I met Mike PattonLOCATION: My house , LivermoreYEAR: 1991TAGS: gremlins 2, faith no morePUBLISHED: March 30, 2008No, I didn't technically meet Mike Patton but now that I have your attention, here's how I was introduced to his awesomeness and his music. My big brother was 8 years older than me. His bedroom walls were covered in Iron Maiden, MOD, and other Metal Posters. I thought he was a God. I'm serious, he was the coolest guy ever. And he knew cool music.
I had to know who sang this beautiful metal masterpiece. The only words I could understand were "Surprise! You're Dead" so I waiting until the end credits and watched eagerly for the soundtrack section. Then there it was in all it's glory and there was the artist: Faith No More. I ran into my mom's room and asked if I could buy an album with my birthday money savings. She said yes and the next day I bought it. I must have listened to that tape over and over and over again. And even thought they weren't as hard as my brother's music, I was sold. I was now a Faith No More fan.
