Party "War Cry"LOCATION: The Green Barrell , Danvers, MAYEAR: 1986TAGS: Party, dance, jukeboxPUBLISHED: July 28, 2008When I was younger, I had a job working second shift at a local hospital. Second shifters have a unique lifestyle, especially those who are single with no major responsibilities. There were about 8 of us who would leave the ward at 11:30 pm and venture to the nearest watering hole where we could be served until the early hours of the morning. After a rather nasty breakup (where the man of my dreams dumped me for a girl because she made more money than me), I developed a habit of investing many, many quarters in the old juke box next to the bar. It became the expectation of my crowd that at some point in the evening I would play “Money Changes Everything” and the whole gang would get up and dance with me. Whenever I have a party to this day I make sure to play that song – What started out as a "war cry" has over the years becomemy official “let’s get crazy” signal. Cyndi Lauper still rocks!
