Kids are meanLOCATION: School , LondiniumYEAR: 1991TAGS: school, angry, bullyPUBLISHED: April 9, 2008At primary school there was a boy called Ricky who lived a few streets away from me. Ricky had very blond spikey hair and a pug nose with freckles. Ricky had an older brother in secondary school called Nicky and they had a bulldog. They would always be standing outside their house wearing shorts and smoking cigarettes ( Ricky was 9 years old), sometimes with their eldest brother who had lots of tattoos and drank cheap beer. When people would walk by their dog would bark at them and the brothers would laugh at the poor soul who had been frightened out of their wits and almost fallen onto the road. Ricky would hit other kids at school and I do believe he once stabbed another boy in the hand with a pencil. At lunch he would eat a banana, and pour yoghurt onto the babana skin which he would then lick off. I think this was to gross people out. He also once chucked his plate at a dinner lady. Everybody was scared of Ricky. He would push you or swear at you or hit you for absolutely no reason at all. He just seemed permanantly angry. When we all moved to sceondary school, Ricky got expelled almost immediately. I don't know what he did for sure, but I heard a rumour that he bought a knife to school. After his expulsion he would hang around the vicinity of the school, often with his dog barking at kids through the railings at break time or lunch time. Even then he was defiant, screaming abuse at us from outside, intimidating all the kids that he couldn't be around anymore. He did that for months and months and months until eventually his family moved away. This song reminds me of Ricky because looking back, I think he must have been a very unhappy boy.
