Achtung Baby was the first album form U2 that I 'waited for'. I became a fan after Rattle and Hum and bought the complete back catalog and playt it on and on.

Achtung Baby was previewed by the single The Fly, which was a great shock for most of the U2 fanbase, because it sounded very different from the previous material.

When the album came out I can lively remember the first time I pressed play on my CD player. Having just embraced The Fly and hoping the album to be like the old U2 I nearly got a heartattack when the opening sounds of Zoo Station were starting !! Holy ***, dit they put the wrong record in the package ? And when the singing started this also sounded nothing likethe Bono I loved.

Now 17 years later Achtung Baby is my favourite U2 album, and everytime I hear the first notes of Zoo Station I get goosebumbs. What a great opening for an even greater album !!
