You know best

Everybody's been through a point in their lives when their parents think they know the path in which YOU should take through YOUR adult life. They think they know best--always. "Oh no, you should be a vet. You wanted to be a vet when you were a little kid"---Ma! I'm no kid anymore, I actually know what I want now, and I'm good at it! Sometimes this feeling can be overwhelming. Maybe they're right, maybe my dream is too out of reach, but theirs isn't. Maybe I should just put my dreams on hold and do what they think is best. Well, this song helps me to never forget that everyone has their dreams. I say, if Billy Joel, a kid from Hicksville, can fulfill his dream of becoming a successful musician (one of the more difficult professions), then maybe my dreams aren't too far out there, after all. Thanks for helping me always remember my dreams, Billy.
