You had everything... .in high schoolLOCATION: Home , Fort WorthYEAR: 2007TAGS: story, high school, musicPUBLISHED: July 9, 2008I remember when I first got this CD and my dad told me a bit about it, he told me how much he loved "Scenes From an Italian Restaurant". So, when I let the disk play, and finally got to this song, I listened intently.--I loved it! It was like the story of two of the most popular kids in high school, only it was told in about 7 mins. Oh, and I loved the Trombone solo, seeing as I'm a trombone player myself :) Anyways, I remember falling in love with all of the songs movements. After a few more listens I realized that this song is almost prophetic of any high school hot shot--you had everything going for you then, but now where's your life at? These jocks and cheerleaders (usually) wind up turning into the people serving me at restaurants (nothing against that), the point being, these hot shots usually end up with the tormented later years, the torment they never experienced when they were in high school. I just love the song, it's so real...So to all you high school hot shots out there...Just try and remember there IS life after high school...You don't wanna end up like Brenda and Eddie, having it all, and simultaneously losing it.
