Stained Glass CurtainsLOCATION: Car , Fort WorthYEAR: 2007TAGS: Religion, Puns, LustPUBLISHED: July 8, 2008I was driving in the car with my dad, and we were listening to "The Stranger", my most recently prized possession, my newly found obsession, and masterpiece!--So "Only The Good Die Young" comes on, and I love it. Everything about it. I guess I'd never really dug deep and REALLY figured out what the song was about. I just thought it was about a guy who wasn't gonna try and be perfect and all religious, he just wanted to be crazy and have fun!--The teenagers anthem. But me and my dad got talking about it, and he just says, "Billy must have really wanted to get laid. That's all this song is about is taking a Catholic girl's virginity" I was in shock he even said that....--"Geeze Dad!" At first I didn't really believe him, I was like, nahhhhh....But then I listened and thought it about it in a bit more depth.......It's all about deflowering a Catholic girl!!! haha. I guess being a religious gal, I'm not supposed to like this song, but I do, I love it--It's very honest. Every guy, and even girls have thought this way at some point or another!...Be honest. Then I thought about it...hmm...VIRGINia...Is this a pun, Billy? --I think SO! (Yes, I know, the song is about the first time he was onstage and saw his crush ACTUALLY look at him for the first time, her name was Virginia), but it's just ironic I guess? Anyways, I love this song...It's not anti-religion, just pro-lust!
