If you're a devoted backpacker or traveler and you've never heard this song before, you simply have to. It's clever and funny and oh-so-true.

I don't remember when I first heard this song, but at some stage during my long travels around the world it found a place on my MD player. A high rotation kind of place. And when I traveled extensively around Europe, the truth behind the lyrics really became clear to me.

Pual Kelly's a great Australian singer, but what he sings about, the typical young Australian experience of heading to Europe for a backpacking trip across the continent, is probably transferable to other nationalities too. He talks about young travelers heading to the pub, meeting girls, having a few drinks or a few drinks too many, moving on to the next city and doing it all again. What's the point? This kind of traveling makes every city just the same.

My favorite line is "I can order sandwiches in seven different languages". Me too. Whenever I listened to this song while I was traveling, it was a great reminder to try and make something unique out of my traveling experiences rather than just heading on to the next city and the next round of sandwiches.
