Very few remember Danny's show.  Truthfully, I don't remember most of it either, except it was funny and warm.  However, I will never the show when Danny sang Scarlet Ribbons.  The story line followed the lyrics of the song.

The youngest girl had gotten into trouble and Danny reprimanded her, but when he heard her simple prayer request he was touched.  As in the song he looked everywhere, but could not find the ribbons himself.  Yet, there they were the next morning.

As a child myself I thought how simple faith was and wondered why adults made it so complicated or believe they have to help it along.  She had asked God, not her dad for the ribbons and like her I knew he would provide.

As an adult who sometimes gets away from the simplicity of "leave it in God's hands" hearing the song again brings me home to that truth.  If God wants your help getting things done, he tells you so, otherwise, "Give it to God then get out of his way."  Over the years in a myriad of ways I've asked God for my own "scarlet ribbons' and when I leave it to him they are awlways there.  It's only when we forget that we were created in his image not the other way around does he find it difficult to provide when we need it most.

This song also reminds me of home and family.  At times it saddens me to realize that I have missed so much with many of my family members by being so far away, but then I remember that to is God's will.
