We (my late husband and I) had gotten involved with the Social Club at the mobile home park we had moved into and we had become good friends with a couple that were planning to marry New Year’s Eve.  The club always had a big New Year’s Eve party at the park with a live band, but the band they wanted was already booked for 2001 and no one seemed to have anyone else in mind.  Not being ones to let things go for too long, we started making inquiries on our own.  Our friends, Bobby and Michelle, told us about a band that they knew and liked.  They invited us to meet them at the hole in the wall bar they were playing at that Friday evening to see what we thought of them.  We went.
The moment we walked in we were impressed with their sound and as we listened further we felt sure this was a band that would do well for our party.  Then my husband asked the lead singer, Cindy, if she knew Pour Me, and if so, would she sing it.  She did, and to this day I believe she did as good a job, if not better, than Trick Pony.  We hired them on the spot for New Year’s Eve.
For several months after that you could find us wherever they were playing on Friday and sometimes Saturday.  Cindy had a range that was fantastic and could sell almost any song she sang.  The drummer was also an extremely talented singer and their duets were great.
Unfortunately, none of them really had the drive it takes to make it to the big time as a group and individually they just didn’t have a unique of sound.  They have all gone their separate ways, but whenever I hear this song, I remember the first night we heard them and smile.

PS.  Bobby and Michelle married in the gazebo outside our hall that New Year’s Eve and our party was a hit as was the band.
