We had met the Grouchers through our kids and 4-H.  Since they lived just down the road from us and were really nice people it didn’t take long for us to become close friends.  It was getting close to Christmas and we were visiting to admire their decorated Christmas tree, which Judy was especially proud of and to sample Judy’s holiday baking.  Judy baked from Thanksgiving right up to Christmas Eve and the results were always fantastic so you never passed up an opportunity to partake.
This particular evening, as we indulged in the goodies and chatted, the television played in the background.  It was a show highlighting Rock ‘n’ Roll legends.  We really hadn’t been paying close attention to it, but as Judy got up to refresh our drink the emcee said, “And here is the architect of Rock ‘n’ Roll, Little Richard.”  From the television came the picture and screaming of fanatic fans and Judy added her own little jig with hands in the air shaking and scream.  We all busted out laughing at her since we all knew she was neither a fan nor a demonstrative person.
Whenever I hear Little Richard to this day I think of Judy and that night.  It still makes me chuckle.
