alynn | MEMORY FROM 1956 Cotton Candy VoicesLOCATION: My Home , MichiganYEAR: 1956TAGS: oldies, beingyoung, PatienceandPrudence, cottoncandyPUBLISHED: April 1, 2008The year this record hit the charts the singers were 11 and 14. Being around that age at the same time, I can attest to the fact that lots of little girls would have loved to trade places with them. What an opportunity to record and possibly get the chance to meet some of the greats from that time period. In reality they probably led simple lives much like most of us. From researching them on the internet I have learned that their father, a band leader, wanted them to have a good education and a normal life so refused to allow them to tour or even perform on the Ed Sullivan Show. Strange, since he was the one that brought them to the studio originally to record this song.
