As a new member of the W.O.T.M. (Women of the Moose) and a new member of the Amos Family (Michael and I married in August of 2005), I was ready, willing, and anxious to become involved and please my new mother-in-law, Elsie.  Thus when it was decided that there was to be fund raiser with members doing a Blast from the Past show in November and Elsie, along with her compatriots (Freada and Colette) agreed to take part in it I was included.  As it turned out we were assigned Stop, In The Name of Love.  The ladies quickly decided we had to have flashy, sexy, and elegant gowns with sparkly jewelry and so on.  The make-up had to be exaggerated for the stage.  Shopping for the gowns and jewelry was a blast in itself and included trips to thrifts stores always followed by lunch out.  Rehearsals were great “hen” parties more than work, but finally the night came.  I was in charge of make-up and had fun painting up these mature women as they fussed and fidgeted while telling me they looked like street walkers.  Finally our turn came and with apologizes to The Supremes we did our number.  It was perfect but we received rave reviews from our friends and family.  All in all, it was a fun night and I will remember it fondly anytime I hear this song.

Elsie is the one in red--she was Diana Ross
