Shall Wii Begin?LOCATION: GameStop , Atlantic BeachYEAR: 2007TAGS: video games, new friends, rivalryPUBLISHED: April 1, 2008Totally ripping off the Wii tagline for a title may seem unethical and wrong, but I promise there's reasoning behind this. Oh, and in place of "we," I will use the word "Wii." Because I find it funny. I met this girl last year, in a GameStop tournament involving the Wii. I was kicking butt. She was kicking butt. And finally Wii met on the battlefield. And she totally and completely owned me. I had no defense whatsoever. She went on to win the tournament. And I hated her guts, 'cause she kinda was a sore winner about it and rubbed it in my face. I left the store with feelings of malice in my heart, and vengeance in my soul. Like I could ever do anything anyway, seeing as I highly doubted Wii'd ever see each other again. Which just goes to show how much my fortune-telling abilities suck, because Wii met up on MySpace about a week later. Wii began to chat and I found that Wii actually had a lot in common. She loved musicals, I loved musicals, especially Wicked. She loved writing, I loved writing. She loved video games, I loved video games. I wanted to be a stand-up comedian, she... wanted to be a doctor. Okay, so not everything was the same. But aside from that (and looks; she was gorgeous while I'm not), she was pretty much my exact duplicate. Which sort of made me hate her all the more. There was something I prided in above all else, and that was my individuality. That, and somehow being able to freak anyone out because of my individuality. (That's a fun word to say.) And now that there was someone apparently just like me, and pretty to boot. I couldn't compare. Eventually, however, I grew to appreciate her being my friend, and Wii now have a sort of friendly rivalry between each other. Are you wondering where this will lead? So am I.
