My First Day With Fire and the High PriestessLOCATION: Tall Pines Park , Neptune BeachYEAR: 2007TAGS: fire, rain, flash, ritualPUBLISHED: February 22, 2008The day after Christmas, there was a battle of slightly-epic proportions in my house, and I ended up on the streets. Which is where our mutual friend Ellen came in. The fire burned high. We danced, we jumped through flames, and the High Priestess watched on. The rain pounded down on us, and we used "sacred liquid" to keep the flames burning. We sang "Flash's Theme," by Queen at the top of our lungs. As the fires died, we picked up the hot embers and rubbed them on David's face and my chest. The ashes of war were painted on our bodies, and David and I were dubbed "Fire" and "Rain," respectively. It was a random day, but it sticks out in my mind because it was the first time I had ever done something incredibly crazy for no reason whatsoever. And it was the first time I could have fun without consequence.
