Get Over ItLOCATION: Fletcher High School , Neptune BeachYEAR: 2005TAGS: arguments, friendship, fightsPUBLISHED: April 15, 2008I had established my role as "mediator" early on my sophomore year, as I had successfully abated several fights from my friends. See, I'm a drifter. I'm friends with a lot of different people, and "cliques," I guess you could say, though I don't believe in high school labels. But then, I guess I have no one to blame but myself, as it's sort of my fault for getting people to hang out together who obviously shouldn't hang out with each other. But I'm an optimist, so I never realized that when you get a bunch of radically different people into a single room, heads tend to butt. I spent my sophomore days running back and forth between friends, desperate for everyone to get along. I based the majority of my arguments on this song, actually singing it a lot of times. It annoyed my friends to no-man's-land, but I was relentless in my battle for school-wide peace. Eventually, I failed in doing anything but keeping each group with each group. And though I was dismayed at the prospect, I settled because everyone was happy, and I was not one to mess with that.

Shinystar said: Great memory, I can really relate to this one because I was like this when I was in high school as well (3 years ago). It ended up backfiring on me though, because it was just impossible to permanently separate clique's it was beautiful for the short while it lasted though. Peacemakers are far and few in between, karma is in your favor my friend. (4/15/2008)
