Dude, Leave Us AloneLOCATION: Fletcher High School , Neptune BeachYEAR: 2007TAGS: obsessions, homosexuality, peoplePUBLISHED: April 7, 2008For our fall musical, our drama instructor (not teacher, he hates that word) Mr. Ming chose Me & My Girl. While I am a Thespian, I'm still new at everything, and don't know everything about every musical on the face of this planet, whilst people like Preston and Julia just put me to shame. I played the head butler, Hethersett, while the lead roles were given to David, who played Bill, and Julia, who played Sally. Now, I'm not really friends with David, he hangs out with a different crowd than I do, but I suppose he was a nice guy in his own way. Kind of extravagant, but then again, so was I. Brian played Parchester, Preston played Sir John, Steven played Gerald, Kristen was Jacquie, and Dana and Vanessa were double-cast as the Duchess. There was one fellow in the cast that I really could have done without. An extra, who played a random butler, named Christian. Christian was obsessed with homosexuality. Not that he was, or at least, not that he's confirmed, but every single day, he would come up to me and ask "Is David gay?" And every single day, I gave him this answer: "No." He was not satisfied, and proceeded to go to everyone but David himself, asking if David was gay, or alternately, giving every reason he thought David was gay. Needless to say, I found this rather trying. Humorous, perhaps, but definitely trying. Nothing to do with the musical, really, but later on, there was a point when he thought I was gay. And a friend of mine was a lesbian. My friend, David (different one), is pretty sure he's gay, and his constant search for other gay people is just Christian trying to find enough so he can finally be comfortable with coming out. I just think he should leave people alone.
