About this Artist

Unwound

Unwound formed in the Pacific Northwest in the early 1990s and were part of a group of indie-rock bands that took traditional pop and rock song structures and infused them with furious noise, angular riffs, and other avant sensibilities. As one of the original bands on the now-legendary Kill Rock Stars label, Unwound were major players in the independent rock and punk underground during its golden age. The trio released albums and singles steadily for nearly a decade and, while a crossover to the mainstream never happened, the band's impact and presence in the underground remains huge.
