About this Artist

Unsane

Formed in New York City in the late 1980s, the Unsane walk a fine line between punk rock, heavy metal, and avant-garde noise. That they have done it so unchangingly for so many years, is in no way due to a lack of creativity, but rather to a strict artistic mission. The Unsane's music is loud, violent, and delivered via some of the most chilling album packaging ever produced (the band often uses police crime-scene and medical-report photos as their cover images), yet they maintain a loyal following and have had a lengthy and respected career. The band's sixth full-length, VISQUEEN, was released on Ipecac Records in 2007.
