About this Artist
Throwing MusesThe spacey, jangly dual-vocal/dual-guitar attack of Boston-via-Providence's Throwing Muses helped define the American college rock sound of the 1980s. Step-sisters Tanya Donnelly and Kristin Hersh would continue to craft their smart, quirky, guitar-driven pop well into the '90s. After the band broke up, Donnelly went on to play in the Breeders and later formed Belly, while Hersh performed as a soloist and under the moniker 50 Foot Wave. The band released a reunion album in 2003. Definitive Albums
