About this Artist
The Only OnesAlthough the Only Ones were one of the finest bands of the U.K. post-punk explosion--playing a style considerably more indebted to Beatles jangle and Stones swagger than punk nihilism--the drug-addled ensemble are, at best, a belated one-hit-wonder. But oh what a hit it is! The Only Ones' "Another Girl Another Planet," from their 1978 debut is a power-pop classic and has been covered by a host of bands, from Greg Kihn to Belle & Sebastian. Like many groups forever linked to one song, the Only Ones' excellent, though sparse, output has been overshadowed by "Another Girl, Another Planet." Still, the band has maintained a rabid cult following for decades. Definitive Albums
