The Knack

Though not quite one-hit wonders, the Knack will forever be associated with one song--the herky-jerky, stuttering smash "My Sharona." Part of the American power-pop movement that never quite took hold, the group reached dizzying overnight success in 1979 with their platinum debut album, and were briefly hailed as the next Beatles. Media overkill and Knack leader Doug Fieger's bratty attitude helped speed the group's fall from grace, and the Knack never really recovered from their lackluster sophomore effort, but "My Sharona" had a second journey to the top of the charts charts when it was featured in the movie REALITY BITES in 1994.
