About this Artist

The Constantines

Formed in 1999, Toronto's Constantines have a pummeling approach to rock music that weds punk aggression with a sophisticated sense of harmonics, a healthy disregard for structural constraints, and an unfakeable soul. Power chords and riffs mingle with stuttering rhythms and poetic lyrics sung with passionate abandon by Bry Webb, whose vocals often recall those of classic rockers like Rod Stewart and Bruce Springsteen. The band released three critically acclaimed albums on the Canadian indie label Three Gut, the latter two of which--SHINE A LIGHT and TOURNAMENT OF HEARTS--were released by Sup Pop in the States.
