Robert Earl KeenTexan singer-songwriter Robert Earl Keen is a revered member of the second generation of maverick country singers, a group which also includes the likes of Lyle Lovett and Steve Earle. The Houston native's style contains equal doses of T-for-Texas twang, folk wit, and Springsteen-style rock muscle. Keen has never cracked the charts in any significant way, but since the mid 1980s he has had a more than respectable career as a recording and touring artist, in addition to garnering the respect of his many esteemed peers.
