About this Artist

Michael W. Smith

Even if he never played a note of music, Michael W. Smith would be an impressive figure. He's organized many ministries and youth organizations, and even started his own Acts Church, which is named for this rennaisance man's record label, Rocket Town. Did we happen to mention that he's also one of the most successful Christian pop artists ever? He started out in the early '80s as a songwriter for the likes of Amy Grant and Bill Gaither, but before long he launched a high-profile solo career, snagging Grammy nominations left and right, and selling countless records. As if that wasn't enough, the guy's also a best-selling author. Smith apparently spends his life in search of something he cannot do, but he hasn't found it yet.
