About this Artist
Martin CarthyOne of the most influential figures of the '60s folk revival, Carthy was recognized as a virtuoso folk guitarist and was resident at London's top folk club the Troubadour. There, he taught songs to visiting Americans including Bob Dylan and Paul Simon, who adapted them for their own records. From 1969-72, he was a member of folk-rock band Steeleye Span. In 1998, national treasure Carthy was awarded an MBE in the Queen's Birthday Honours. Definitive Albums
